The beauty and wonder of basic substances fill me with awe

(From my original Blogspot)

Water is the most amazing substance.  It both cleanses and gives life.  What other substance could you say that about?  Almost any other cleaning agent one can name is toxic. For the cleaning agents that are not toxic, they certainly would not be considered life-promoting like water is.  And conversely,  no other life-sustaining drink, like milk for instance, can cleanse like water.  In fact, most drinks, in the very least, make a sticky mess!

I suppose vinegar is a good second place next to water.  It both cleanses and nourishes life.  But many an organism has passed its existence on this planet without it, so water still wins the day.  Water, a beautiful and marvelous creation, points to a God who intelligently created this earth.

Eggs are also quite a marvel.  This week I used eggs for multiple things.  Eggs were a main ingredient in a batch of royal icing I made.  Anyone who has made or used this icing knows that it is closer to cement than a form of food.  The unique properties of the egg make this strange recipe, an edible glue, possible.

Eggs comprised our breakfast food.  The egg presents itself with many ways to prepare it, each way producing a different texture and experience.  Fluffy, rubbery, smooth, or firm.  And all of this from snatching prematurely a chicken from its full embryonic expression.  From the egg came our Thanksgiving turkey: an egg having completed its largest mission, to form an adult bird.

God is truly the most creative of all.  If every I feel to create, I look to Him as the greatest mentor.
