This Saturday, I was so excited to attend a book signing hosted by an old friend of mine: Alicia Astle Buck. She lived in the same ward as me many years ago and was just a young teenager then. (My goodness, she has done a lot with her 20's!) How wonderful it was to get an e-mail from her mother that she has just published a book entitled "Flecks of Gold" (which I am in the middle of reading, and it is fantastic!). When I spoke with Alicia, she said she actually started writing the book 10 years ago. I really admire that she stuck to it because she has three little kids. If she can get a book out with three little kids crawling all over her, she can do anything in life!!

My friend Yvonne Swinson also has a book she has just had published that is scheduled for release any day now. Coincidentally, it is being published through Cedar Fort, which is the same publishing house that picked up Alicia's book! Anyway, Yvonne's book is entitled, "33 Habits of a Really Good Man." It's release is intended to pick up Father's Day sales, and I am optimistic that it will please a lot of Father's this year!! In her book, Yvonne wrote about her memories of her Dad, with each memory attached to a quote and a life lesson. The format is unique and the content is uplifting. It is value-priced at under $10. Look for her in LDS Living next month!

I also got a fun surprise today in my e-mail. I receive e-mails for audition notices at The Space Between Theater Company. The e-mail was a casting call for a play written by a local individual who had just won a play writing contest. I was excited to see that the play was authored by Roger Dunbar, a friend of mine (I adore his wife Tamari). Accolades to him for taking the time to be excellent in his creativity! I can't wait to hear what his play is all about. It is entitled "Nest Egg, Golden Egg."

I just LOVE how creative and brilliant people can be. I admire my friends for their accomplishments and wish to give them all of my support and love.
